Bookmaker Paddy Power is refunding more than £100k to customers who backed Andy Murray to win Wimbledon.

The world number one was beaten in the quarter-finals by USA's Sam Querrey.

Murray was 1/33 to reach the last four at SW19.

Paddy Power has announced it will refund single bets on Murray to win the match and outright bets on the Briton to retain the title.

Bookie boss Paddy Power said: “Andy Murray carried the hopes of a nation and the lionshare of our punters today but unfortunately he couldn’t perform to the peak of his powers.

"As the Scot wasn’t at his best we feel that the only fair thing to do is to give our customer’s their money back to have another crack at us before the end of the tournament.”
