Ladbrokes have suspended their Wayne Rooney transfer betting market.
The bookies have shut the book on the Manchester United forward returning to his first club, Everton.
A host of bets had seen the striker's homecoming odds plummet into 1/20, before traders pulled the plug early on Wednesday morning.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Everton fans must be wondering what the club are putting in their breakfast this summer.
"Having spent over £70m already, the Toffees are now set to bring home arguably their most famous son."
Rooney, 31, joined United from Everton in 2004 and now appears to be heading back to the team he supported as a boy.
Rooney is Manchester United and England's record goalscorer but will be reportedly be allowed to return to Goodison Park on a free transfer.
Rooney was withdrawn from United's squad bound for a pre-season tour of the US on Sunday.
