Matched betting for beginners: Dom's experience so far

Dom is a 26-year-old web developer from Lincoln. He is relatively new to matched betting after joining Profit Accumulator in March 2017.

He shares his experience so far

How did you hear about matched betting?

On Twitter actually, around the time of Cheltenham Festival this year. Someone told me ages a go about the concept but I never really paid too much attention. Then around Cheltenham Festival, there were a few tweets about people who had recorded manually all of the reload offers, so I started looking in to it after reading their comments.

Did you have any reservations about starting it?

Absolutely! It's often described "guaranteed", but I always thought at the back of my mind that I'd be doing something wrong and end up losing money somehow. Fortunately, I know that's not the case now, but that was my biggest reservation. I didn't really have a lot of money to start with so really didn't want to end up with money out of my bank account for a while.

How long have you been doing it, how much bankroll did you start with and how much have you made so far?

I've been matched betting for about a month. I started off with depositing the bare minimum into Coral and Betfair for the intro bets, probably started with £50 maximum.

I can definitely see the benefits of using large sums of money, and reading the PA forum you can see how much more people make by investing more in the beginning, but I didn't want to end up having a large sum of money out of my account for a period of time while bookies were paying out slowly.

I've not really scratched the surface yet. Out of all the sign-up offers, I've done about 20 per cent, and one casino offer.

What do you hope to do with your profits?

To be honest, the goal is to just build the money up at the moment and then look to go on holiday with it once it's at enough to withdraw.

How much time are you spending on matched betting at the moment?

Probably about 20 to 30 minutes a day. While I'm still doing the sign-up offers, I'm taking time to learn the different methods, as well as steadily build my bank up.

Are you hoping to increase your matched betting in future?

Definitely. I've see the success it can bring, and can see what other people are doing so I'll be investing more time into it once my bank grows.

Are there any parts of Profit Accumulator you particularly like?

The training and forums are priceless. The forums are really active so questions get answered really quickly and there's always someone ready to help.
