What's your name and where are you from?

Matt, from London

Please can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I’ve just turned 25, and currently live in a flat with my girlfriend of 7 years. I graduated from York in 2019 with a Masters in Social Policy, and started a graduate scheme in local government about 6 months ago. I’m an avid football fan and long-suffering Arsenal supporter, and used to go to every home game before this whole pandemic thing came about.

How long have you been a member of Profit Accumulator?

I joined in mid-October of last year, so have been a member for just over 6 months

Can you remember how you first heard about Matched Betting and what you initially thought about it? What convinced you to give it a go?

Honestly I can’t. I think I saw one of the ads on Facebook, and my dad does something similar on the exchanges to back and lay bets, so I knew that it was a way you could make money. I think I was just convinced by the explanation in the video combined with a bit of background knowledge. I also just had quite a bit of spare time, so took a look at the trial and it’s all gone on from there.

Had you ever placed a bet before Matched Betting? Did you know anything about sports at all?

I’d never placed a bet other than on the Grand National or a couple of times I’d been to horse racing events as a kid. I know a lot about sports, namely football and golf, but I don’t necessarily think that’s been a massive factor outside of knowing what games are too little known to be betting on.

How easy or difficult did you find it to learn Matched Betting?

I found the basic back and lay methods very easy to pick up, and then other bits have fallen in to place as I’ve gone along. I still don’t know everything though, and I like trying to learn something new each month.

What was your starting bankroll (or cash float)?

I started off at the very beginning with about £75, and then after seeing how profitable it could be, I set aside around another £200 from my next paycheck and put that in there too.

How much profit have you made so far?

Thanks to Bayern’s (albeit brief) comeback last night against PSG landing me a FTA 2up, I’m currently at £3,250.

Have you bought anything nice? Or are you saving up for something special?

I bought this PS5 back in November, which was most of my profits at the time, so I did have to build up again, but otherwise my girlfriend and I are saving up for a deposit for our first house, so that’s where it’s all going eventually. I’ve not had to add anything in since my original investment though which has been great.

Do your family and friends understand how you have made the money?

Yeah, as I said, my dad does something similar, and so he gets it entirely. I’ve explained it to one of my best friends, and I’m not sure he quite understands, but he’s seen the money so I think he’s interested. My sister’s boyfriend has also got involved as well after seeing the profits. I have used the phrase ‘it’s not actually gambling’ quite a few times though!

Are you a person that tracks everything or do you just roughly tot up your total profits every week or so?

As money was very tight for me to begin with I tracked every single penny in or out, and as much as I probably don’t need to do that anymore, I still find that I like to. I have a spreadsheet dating back to the end of October with over 1000 bets in it currently, as well as a deposit and withdrawal tracker I made. My degree was around statistics and data, so I probably enjoy filling in spreadsheets more than most! I actually uploaded my sheet to the Facebook Group with a full instructions page, so people can join me in my madness if they want to.

How much time do you think you spend Matched Betting? When do you tend to do most of your Matched Betting?

I’m fortunate that my current job is working from home at a computer, so I just take a look as and when during the day. I have a routine with 5 or 6 bookies that I’ll take a look through every morning, then I’ll check the offers calendar or Andy’s post on my lunch break to see if there’s anything interesting I’ve not seen. I’d say between 30mins-1hr a day probably, but spread over the whole course of the day, and maybe a little more on weekends depending on what events are on.

What kind of offers do you do to make money now? Do you stick to just sports offers or do you do casino offers too?

I still do largely the same bet and get type offers I did when I first started out in all honesty. The big addition has been 2ups, where I’ve had a few FTAs luckily, so they’ve added some nice chunks to the bank balance. I do pretty much exclusively sports offers, as whilst I know the casino offers can be valuable, I’m not confident enough with them to really invest into them. 2ups are probably my favourite, although I’ll shout out to the Novibet bet club and offers, who’ve probably given me more free bets than any other bookie by far.

How have you found PA's services so far? What aspects do you like the most?

They’ve been so useful for being able to do things quickly and easily. I think the acca catcher has been best thing for me, as I tend to put every free bet I get on an acca, and that wouldn’t be possible without it. Even the more basic things like the oddsmatcher and calculator are just nice and simple and clear which is really good. Lots of filters and modes so you can get exactly what you’re looking for.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking of starting Matched Betting?

To start as soon as you can really, it’s such an easy additional income source.

What would you say to people who think Matched Betting is too good to be true?

To do some research themselves, check out the Facebook Group, take a look at the PS5 in my front room, or the numerous other things people have bought, and then do the trial to see for themselves.

What advice and tips would you give to a new PA member who has just started Matched Betting?

Get a separate bank account and email, and know that the offers will always be there. It can seem disheartening when an offer comes up that you don’t quite understand or don’t have the bankroll for, but the offers never go away. Also, bet on things that are happening today, it means your liability isn’t tied up for 3 days and you can keep on profiting.

What advice and tips would you give to a PA member who’s just about to start doing reload offers?

Start with guaranteed profit offers, and don’t see any profit as too small. It can be tempting to want to jump straight in to the 2ups and EPs after your first few weeks, but you need to know what you’re doing to really maximise the profits there. Bet clubs, free bet offers and price boosts are the best to start on. Build your bank and then start branching out.
