Profit Accumulator is home to thousands of members who earn extra money with matched betting.

We have a busy matched betting, where users share tips, advice and chat, as well as a large following on Facebook and Twitter.

Here, we find out a bit more about one of our members.

What's Your Name?

Dave.

Where Do You Live?

South coast.

What Is Your Job?

Self-employed, with variable and unreliable income - I needed a stable online extra source that I could do between customers.

How Long Have You Been A Member Of PA?

About two years, but I only started seriously after a year.

How did you hear about matched betting?

I heard about matched betting years ago, and like everyone else I couldn't get my head around it. More recently a friend who plays fruit machines in the pub suggested we do it.

He introduced me to his friend on PA, and I kept researching. Eventually I took a deep breath and joined PA. My friend still only loses on the fruits and I have to buy him drinks now.

How have you found it?

Like everyone I guess - sticking to sign-up offers to start with. Doing the Bet 365 was a biggie for me, but I managed to lose both qualifying bets immediately! There came a point when all the easy sign ups were finished, and I had to branch out.

I am signed up to about 40 bookies, but only use about a dozen. With experience I hope to get the dormant accounts making money for me, one way or another.

It took a while, but I found accas much easier and less complicated than many think, as long as I stick to the basics.

I am going to start horses soon - I took time off for Cheltenham this year, and made a bit of money. I did the Bet 365 refund on the Grand National on the favourite and made around £70, but I had to put an extra £500 into Smarkets with no money left for any other bets - that really made me focus on building up the bankroll.

How much time do you spend on matched betting?

One to three hours a day - sometimes watching tv while playing with Acca Catcher. My knowledge of football is still woeful but I am improving.

Why does matched betting appeal to you?

In the 1980s I had a friend who was gambling anything up to £3,000 a day in the bookies, when you had to specify paying tax on the bet or the winnings. Coral and Ladbrokes were opposite each other, 50 yards from the pub.

I was forever scribbling bets just before the off for him. He mostly lost, but we would end up in the casino where he played £200 on red or black (we were usually pretty drunk by then) until the money ran out. With that background I really appreciate the slow but steady accumulation method.

What do you do with the profit you make?

Still building up the bank, so all recycled. When the day job is quiet, matched betting smooths things out - money is no longer a problem. I reckon I am only doing less than 5 or 10 per cent of the potential profits I can make. Using Profit Tracker was a revelation to me - while I was never losing, I had no real idea how much I was making until I started using it.

Are there any aspects of Profit Accumulator you particularly like?

The vast amounts of knowledge people share - the clever ways of making money from bookies.

The videos really help, especially in the early days when signing up for a bookie and depositing £20 feels a big thing. I am going to get my head around lock-ins and all the other profits that I am missing out on. I have so much to learn.

Until PA I have always struggled with finances (I nearly went bankrupt several years ago), and I am confident I will continue to improve my finances, and look forward to a few more luxuries in my life.
