We are all used to the idea that you can very rarely have something for nothing - that if you want to make money online or offline, you will need to put in a bit of effort. What you might not have realised, however, is just how many opportunities exist to generate a bit of cash that are both (a) legitimate and (b) not that difficult at all.

From taking surveys to running your own website, it's all possible

Such is the astonishing range of ways to make money online that is expanding on a seemingly daily basis, it's impossible for us to say exactly how many genuine opportunities there are out there to bolster your monthly pay packet. It is probably safer, in fact, to say that if there's something you are interested in, there's probably a way to make money from it, somehow.

Do you, for example, like to discover new products and get paid for it? No problem - research companies like Toluna are always seeking volunteers to complete online surveys and test new products, with up to £3 able to be made on some surveys.

Or maybe you would like to do something a bit more... serious, and potentially even more lucrative? A lot of us would love to invest in stock markets and currencies but are very intimidated by it all, which is where one of the modern online market trading platforms such as eToro can be invaluable. Then, there's the option of going 'full Mark Zuckerberg' by starting an online business.

You might have noticed a trend here...

While all of the above are undoubtedly fine ways to make money online, you might have noticed - including from your own research - that the things that don't require much effort or time also don't usually generate much cash, while those that do leave you seriously 'quids in' call for a major commitment over a long period of time.

So, is there any online money making method that isn't too demanding, while also generating lots of cash? It sounds like the kind of question to which the answer would be a definite "no", but you do have one option here... sports betting!

No, we aren't talking about gambling - taking a punt on the latest Premier League football match and just hoping for the best. Instead, we're talking about placing matched bets, a process that takes all chance out of the equation, in favour of a guaranteed way to make cash, time after time.

Is matched betting really worth the hype?

Don't misunderstand us here - matched betting isn't a 'get rich quick' scheme. If you do it right, you won't be rolling in the millions, but you can make a reliable few hundred - perhaps even thousands - of pounds every month, all while doing relatively little work yourself.

You could be generating £30 an hour while sitting at home taking advantage of the free bets offered by bookmakers, and here at Profit Accumulator, we have set up a complete online platform that makes it all as easy as can be - even if you have never taken an interest in sports betting previously.
