Wager & Get (2x+ Bonus Wagering)

ABOUT WAGER & GET OFFERS

This is a similar concept to the simple Wager & Get offers except there is a higher wagering requirement on the reward (bonus or free spins). These offers require you to initially wager with your own cash and then you'll receive a reward. The reward then has a particular wagering requirement (e.g. 10x wagering on a £5 bonus which means £50 of play). Bonus funds will very often be used before cash funds with this style of offer - it is the assumption we've made for all of the information that follows.

Stake Recommendation

For the initial cash wagering part of the offer, the stake size makes no difference to the EV. The stake you choose to play with will affect the variance (swings in profit/loss) and how long it takes you to do an offer, but the value on this part of the offer will not change. For this reason you should be thinking about doing the initial wagering with the lowest stake that you can where you're still happy with how long it'll take you to complete the offer.

When you reach the bonus part of the offer, this will vary in value based on the stake size. You will generally want to play with higher stakes to maximise the value. Higher stakes will also mean a higher bust rate though so you'll want to find a good balance of value and not busting out too often.

Generally, the larger the wagering on the bonus, the larger your stake size should be. A good starting point is £0.40-£1 spins on a slot or £2-£5 when playing on Roulette/Blackjack. Some offers will have a maximum stake so make sure you don't play higher than that amount!

You can load up the Simulator and run it with different stake amounts to see what suits you from a value/bust rate perspective.

Quick Tip! Winnings caps can sometimes throw a spanner in the works for your choice of stake. If for example you're capped at £50 winnings from a £10 bonus, then there's no point playing with really high stakes. Again, play around with the Simulator and see what works.

Should I Ever Finish The Offer Early?

No - not if don't want to be losing value! There are some deposit match offers where it can be the correct decision to finish an offer "early", but with Wager & Get offers where bonus balance is used before cash funds, it's always the correct decision to complete an offer from a value perspective.

It can be tempting quit if you get a nice big win early on, but remember that our value comes from the reward and not just from playing a casino game! It's a common myth that if your current profit is above the EV, that you should finish the offer - this is not true!

Let's look at an example:
You're doing a "Wager £10 Get £2 Bonus" offer with an EV of £1.50. You're £3 into the wagering and get a nice £20 win and decide to stop. But the position you're currently in essentially gives you a "Wager £7 Get £2 Bonus" offer (since you've already completed £3 of the wagering).

The offer had good value with wagering £10 so of course it is very much the correct decision to keep playing and earn your £2 bonus reward now that you only have £7 wagering left.

Wager & Get Bonus (2x+ Wager On Bonus)

Example: Wager £20 Get £5 Bonus
Extra Info: Bonus has 10x wagering. Often when you have to wager to receive a bonus, the bonus funds will then be used before cash (not always the case though).

Actual Past Offer Example: STSBet Wager £75 Get £10 Bonus (Slots)

Wager & Get Free Spins (2x+ Wager On Winnings)

Example: Wager £20 Get 20 Free Spins
Extra Info: Free spins are worth £0.25 each. Free spins winnings have 10x wagering. Often when you have to wager to receive free spins, the bonus funds from free spins winnings will then be used before cash (not always the case though).

The free spins setting on the simulator is currently not flexible enough with choosing the RTP of both the initial wagering game and the free spins game/what you wager on. For this reason these styles of offers are best calculated in the same way as Wager & Get Bonus (2x+ Wager On Bonus) except inputting the value of the bonus as the value of the free spins.

We’ll then put the wager value as 10x the value of these free spins.

  1. This value of free spins can be calculated on the EV Calculator. Like so:

  2. Then this value of £4.80 will be used as the Bonus and £48 (which is our 10x wagering multiplied by the £4.80) for the Wagering Amount on the Simulator (Click Here For Pre-Filled Simulator):

Actual Past Offer Example: STSBet Wager £0.75 Get 14 Free Spins (Slots)
